Judge To Consider Class In Pfizer's Neurontin Cases

Law360, New York (January 23, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Nearly three years after criminal charges were settled in Pfizer Inc.’s illegal marketing of the epilepsy drug Neurontin, a federal judge is considering whether or not to grant class action status in nearly 200 consolidated civil lawsuits.

Plaintiffs’ lawyers on Monday said both parties agreed that a hearing on class certification should be held during the second half of April, while also filing a motion for more time to respond to Pfizer’s expert reports.
