US Lawmakers Look To Reform Communications Act

Law360, New York (May 24, 2010, 7:27 PM EDT) -- Democratic lawmakers said Monday they would start holding bipartisan meetings in June to develop proposals for revamping the Communications Act as federal regulators attempt to reclaim authority over Internet service providers.

Senate Commerce Committee chairman Jay Rockefeller, D-W.Va., and House Committee on Energy and Commerce chairman Henry Waxman, D-Calif., said they would invite stakeholders to participate in a series of “issue-focused meetings” and would release additional details soon.
