Remaining Claims Thrown Out in Alaris, ICU Case

Law360, New York (January 24, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- In a victory for Alaris Medical Systems Inc., a district court judge has granted its summary judgment motion of non-infringement over the two remaining patents in a suit brought by industry rival ICU Medical Inc.

The case, which is over needle-free valves, came down to whether ICU Medical had a spikeless valve disclosed in its patents. In Monday’s decision, Judge Mariana R. Pfaelzer of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California ruled that it did not.
