E.C. Hauls Spain To Court Over Merger

Law360, New York (January 24, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Following months of mounting warnings, Europe’s competition watchdog has hauled Spain to court over its attempt to block the merger of energy companies E.On AG and Endesa SA.

The European Commission on Wednesday brought a case against Spain in the European Court of Justice over a law passed last year that gave a boost to the powers of the country’s energy regulator, Comision Nacional de Energia, Dow Jones reported.
