Life Tech Sues Illumina Over DNA Device Patents

Law360, New York (May 25, 2010, 7:30 PM EDT) -- Biotechnology tools maker Life Technologies Corp. has filed a suit against Illumina Inc., claiming its genetic analysis products infringe eight patents covering methods and instruments for DNA and RNA sequencing.

Patent licensee Life Technologies joined its subsidiary Applied Biosystems LLC and patent owner Cornell University and the school's research foundation in lodging a complaint Monday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.
