Fee Disputes Erupt In Saint Vincent's Bankruptcy

Law360, New York (May 26, 2010, 2:04 PM EDT) -- With money tight during the liquidation of Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centers, the U.S. trustee, various professional firms and a lender are doing battle over prepetition retainers and how much the firms will be paid.

Throwing the first punch was U.S. Trustee Diana G. Adams, who on Monday took the debtors' counsel, Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP, and the debtors' crisis management service provider, Grant Thornton LLP, to task for seeking court approval of so-called “evergreen” retainers.
