SEC Fills New COO Position With Ex-Capital One VP

Law360, New York (May 27, 2010, 4:13 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has tapped former Capital One Financial Corp. executive Jeff Heslop to act as its first-ever chief operating officer for information technology, financial reporting and records management.

Heslop, who reports directly to Chairwoman Mary Schapiro, joined the agency May 17, the SEC said Thursday.

The agency said it created the position to streamline its operations and increase efficiency.
