Deutsche, JPMorgan Off Hook For Software IP Claims

Law360, New York (May 28, 2010, 1:28 PM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has refused to revive a software developer's vicarious copyright infringement suit against JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Deutsche Bank Trust Co. Americas over an alleged theft of a computer program by a bankrupt food distributor.

A three-judge panel in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit on Wednesday affirmed a district court's rejection of inventor Wayne Berry's claims against the lenders and other defendants for copyright infringement, unjust enrichment and violations of the Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act....
