Starr Entities Put Under Monitor's Watch

Law360, New York (June 1, 2010, 5:09 PM EDT) -- Days after the arrest of high-profile investment adviser Kenneth Ira Starr on fraud and money laundering charges, a federal judge has appointed an interim monitor to keep track of expenses and transfers in and out of three entities Starr controls.

Judge Sidney H. Stein of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, who is overseeing the civil case against Starr, appointed Troutman Sanders LLP's Aurora Cassirer as monitor following a conference Tuesday. Starr's counsel were not present.
