DOJ Probing BP Spill For Criminal Violations

Law360, New York (June 1, 2010, 4:52 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Justice has begun a criminal probe into the Deepwater Horizon blast and oil spill and will aggressively pursue any responsible parties, Attorney General Eric Holder told reporters in New Orleans on Tuesday.

DOJ attorneys are reviewing possible violations of criminal laws and have asked parties to preserve records that might illuminate facts surrounding the BP PLC spill, Holder said.
