USPTO, Google Partner To Offer Patent, TM Bulk Data

Law360, New York (June 2, 2010, 5:33 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has signed a two-year deal with Google Inc. that calls for the Internet giant to host a free website providing access to the agency's bulk public electronic patent and trademark data.

The agreement comes at no cost to the USPTO, which will give Google its current bulk electronic files to be posted for public use, the agency said Wednesday. Google will not make any changes to the files except to compress them, it said.
