Law360 (June 3, 2010, 3:57 PM EDT) -- A judge has given final approval to a settlement between Becton Dickinson & Co. and employees accusing the medical supply company of misclassifying certain workers as overtime exempt.
Judge Irma Gonzalez issued an order approving the settlement Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California.
Under the deal, Becton Dickinson will pay a $1 million lump sum to resolve alleged wage violations. The settlement amount includes a $4,000 penalty under California’s Private Attorneys General Act.
