Lawmakers Mull OT Changes For Calif. Farmworkers

Law360, New York (June 4, 2010, 1:38 PM EDT) -- California lawmakers are considering hotly contested legislation that would change the state's labor laws to allow farmworkers to receive time and a half overtime pay after working 40 hours per week, instead of after 60 hours per week.

The bill, known as SB 1211, was approved by a 23-12 vote in the state Senate on Thursday and will now go to the Assembly for consideration, according to the California Legislature's website.
