NY District Atty Offers Corporate Prosecution Protocol

Law360, New York (June 7, 2010, 5:18 PM EDT) -- The New York County district attorney's office has unveiled a list of criteria that factor into its decisions to file criminal charges against business entities, in what it said was an unprecedented move for a local prosecutor's office.

In an interoffice memorandum released June 1, Chief Assistant District Attorney Daniel R. Alonso outlined 10 considerations for assistant district attorneys to weigh when determining whether to prosecute organizations, in an effort to establish a transparent and uniform process.
