Biotech Co.'s Suit Over Mintz Levin IP Work Trimmed

Law360, New York (June 7, 2010, 1:52 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has pared down a legal malpractice suit against Mintz Levin Cohn Ferris Glovsky & Popeo PC over the alleged mishandling of a patent prosecution for former client Tethys Bioscience Inc., dismissing a conversion claim but leaving the biotechnology company's claim for breach of fiduciary duty intact.

In a ruling issued Friday, Judge Claudia Wilken of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California also denied the law firm's motion to strike Tethys' request for punitive damages.
