Congress OKs Bill To Pay Oil Spill Claims Up To $100M

Law360, New York (June 11, 2010, 11:05 AM EDT) -- The U.S. House of Representatives has sent President Barack Obama a bill that would authorize the advance payment of claims of up to $100 million each from the Oil Spill Liability Trust Fund for companies, agencies and individuals affected by the ongoing BP PLC oil spill.

House members late Thursday unanimously approved S. 3473 by a vote of 410-0. The bill, sponsored by Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., was introduced and passed by unanimous consent in the Senate on Wednesday.
