Latino Workers Get $2.8M In Discrimination Case

Law360, New York (January 29, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Quietflex Manufacturing Co. has greed to pay 78 former and current Latino employees $2.8 million, settling the workers’ claim that the company routinely discriminated against them, assigning them to a less desirable department and failing to pay overtime wages.

The Delaware-based company, which manufactures flexible air conditioning ducts, will also adopt policies and practices that promote equal employment opportunity, according to the settlement, which a district court judge approved on Jan. 23.
