Luminant Wins Again Against Alcoa In Mine Spat

Law360, New York (June 14, 2010, 1:49 PM EDT) -- Fresh from a win in a breach of contract suit brought by Alcoa Inc., Luminant Generation Co. LLC has won another victory against the aluminum giant following a Texas court's refusal to hand over possession of Luminant's Three Oaks coal mine to Alcoa.

After a bench trial, the 20th Judicial District Court of Milam County, Texas, ruled Wednesday that Alcoa would have to consent to the transfer of the mine permit for Three Oaks, in spite of its claims that Luminant had wasted lignite coal....
