Ampex Sues Sony Over Digital Camera Patents

Law360, New York (July 13, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Ampex has filed complaints against Japanese electronics maker Sony in a U.S. district court and with the U.S. International Trade Commission over patents for digital cameras and handheld devices that can store pictures.

The ITC complaint seeks to block the importation of Sony devices that Ampex claims infringe its U.S. patents. Under its policy directives, the ITC has up to a year to complete an investigation, and up to 18 months in complicated cases.
