DOC Finds Malaysia Co. Dumped Carrier Bags

Law360, New York (June 15, 2010, 3:02 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce has issued a preliminary determination that Malaysian exporter Euro Plastics Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. sold polyethylene retail carrier bags at prices below normal value.

In a notice published Tuesday in the Federal Register, the International Trade Administration said it was forced to calculate the dumping margins for Euro Plastics at 101.74 percent — the highest margin found in its investigation of carrier bags from Malaysia — because the company had failed to respond to a recent questionnaire.
