US Airways Skycap Tip Suit Trimmed

Law360 (June 16, 2010, 3:50 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has tossed a contract claim from a putative class action brought by US Airways Inc. skycaps who claim they lost out on tips when the airline imposed a curbside check-in fee for bags at airports.

Judge Gene E. K. Pratter of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania on Tuesday dismissed the plaintiffs' claim that US Airways tortiously interfered with an implied contractual relationship between skycaps and airline passengers, but left the plaintiffs' three other claims against the airline intact....
