Reinstated Steel Duties Withstand Thai Co.'s Challenge

Law360, New York (June 17, 2010, 5:16 PM EDT) -- A Thai steel company has lost its latest bid to challenge the U.S. Department of Commerce's reinstatement of anti-dumping duties on hot-rolled carbon steel without performing a new investigation after the government revoked the duties in 2006.

The U.S. Court of International Trade on Tuesday denied a motion for judgment on the agency record filed by Sahaviriya Steel Industries Public Co. Ltd., finding that the International Trade Administration acted legally when it reinstated the duties without performing a new investigation.
