Depression Bias Case Against DLA Piper Revived

Law360, New York (June 16, 2010, 4:06 PM EDT) -- An employment appeals tribunal in London has ordered a new hearing for a lawyer who accuses DLA Piper UK LLP of hiring discrimination, ruling that an employment tribunal erred in disallowing her mental health-related claim.

The Honorable Mr. Justice Underhill's decision, handed down Tuesday at the Employment Appeal Tribunal in London, said the tribunal erred in ruling that the claimant, known only as J, did not suffer from any disability despite evidence of her past battles with depression.
