Texas Co-Op Off The Hook In Fla. Insurance Spat

Law360, New York (June 21, 2010, 6:00 PM EDT) -- San Miguel Electric Cooperative Inc. has won its bid to be dismissed from a suit brought by Liberty Mutual Fire Insurance Co., which sought judgment that it did not owe coverage to the Texas-based energy cooperative for damages resulting from a 2007 power outage.

Judge Virginia M. Hernandez Covington of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida on Friday signed off on San Miguel's motion to dismiss it from the insurer's suit for lack of personal jurisdiction.
