Disk IP Injunction Would Hurt Quanta's Business: Judge

Law360, New York (June 23, 2010, 1:48 PM EDT) -- LaserDynamics Inc., which is seeking a new trial in its infringement case against Quanta Computer Inc. over a disk recognition patent after the judge cut a $52 million jury verdict to $6.2 million, has lost its bid for a permanent injunction against the defendant.

Judge T. John Ward of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on Tuesday shot down LaserDynamics’ motion, finding that the plaintiff had failed to show irreparable injury and inadequate legal remedies without an injunction.
