Equipment Tech Hits Ingersoll-Rand With OT Action

Law360, New York (June 28, 2010, 1:12 PM EDT) -- An equipment technician has filed a proposed class action against Ingersoll-Rand Co., accusing the commercial products giant of illegally refusing to pay for time workers spend driving throughout New England to perform installations, service and repairs.

Brian Nelson's complaint, lodged Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, says the company willfully engages in the practice in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Massachusetts Fair Wage Law and that his supervisors retaliated against him when he complained.
