Veraz Settles SEC Suit Over China, Vietnam Payments

Law360, New York (June 29, 2010, 7:01 PM EDT) -- Veraz Networks Inc. has agreed to shell out $300,000 to put to rest U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission claims that the San Jose, Calif.-based telecommunications company violated the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act through payments to officials in China and Vietnam.

Without admitting or denying the allegations, Veraz consented Tuesday to the entry of a final judgment in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California permanently enjoining it from future violations of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as well as the $300,000 penalty....
