Cargill Line Workers Win Cert. In Don, Doff Case

Law360, New York (July 1, 2010, 12:45 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has granted conditional class certification to a group of over 500 Cargill Meat Solutions Corp. production line employees in a lawsuit alleging the company refuses to pay workers at its Milwaukee meatpacking plant for time spent donning and doffing protective gear.

Judge Lynn Adelman of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin on Wednesday conditionally certified the lawsuit, brought by two former employees at the plant, as a collective action.
