Hong Kong Unveils Long-Awaited Antitrust Bill

Law360, New York (July 2, 2010, 2:55 PM EDT) -- A long-awaited bill to create the first antitrust enforcement agency in Hong Kong, one of the world's financial meccas, was announced Friday and will be introduced to legislators on July 14.

Describing the measure as a milestone for its competition policy, Hong Kong's government said the bill would be a boon to both the business sector and consumers and would enhance economic efficiency and the free flow of trade through sustainable competition.
