Age Bias Claims Against Embarq Survive Bid To Nix

Law360, New York (July 6, 2010, 1:47 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has rejected an attempt by telecommunications company Embarq Corp. to trim age discrimination claims from a putative class action that accuses it of unlawfully reducing retirement benefits.

Judge Eric F. Melgren of the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas said Friday that this was the third time that Embarq — now known as CenturyLink — had filed a motion relating to the complaint's Age Discrimination in Employment Act and state law age discrimination claims.
