Law360, New York (July 7, 2010, 4:31 PM EDT) -- Anadarko Petroleum Corp. has won the dismissal of several claims in a putative class action alleging the company skimps on oil and gas lease royalties, though the court refused to dismiss the plaintiffs' pivotal breach of fiduciary duty claim.

Judge Vicki Miles-LaGrange of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma on Tuesday dismissed several counts from the case, including claims for embezzlement and injunctive relief, but determined that Anadarko in fact carried a fiduciary duty to landowners in connection with certain wells....
