Calpine Shareholders Question Miller Buckfire Hiring

Law360, New York (February 5, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Shareholders of Calpine Corp. have filed a request with the bankruptcy court overseeing the power company's Chapter 11 case, asking that it deny Calpine's motion to retain Miller Buckfire Co. to help it raise equity.

In documents filed last week, Calpine’s official committee of equity security holders said the company’s proposed order excludes them from the restructuring process, and may undervalue the debtor’s estates. A hearing on the matter is set for Wednesday.
