Talecris Settles Jilted Job-Seeker FCRA Class Action

Law360, New York (July 8, 2010, 2:56 PM EDT) -- Talecris Biotherapeutics Inc. has settled a class action alleging it improperly used background checks to vet job applicants in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

On Wednesday, Magistrate Judge Wallace W. Dixon approved the settlement in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina, resolving claims that Talecris rejected job-seekers on the basis of consumer reports without discussing the fatal revelations with them.
