Commerce Hits Brazil's Villares With Dumping Duties

Law360, New York (July 12, 2010, 4:40 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce on Monday levied a 3.5 percent anti-dumping duty on certain stainless steel products from Brazil.

Commerce gave notice of the final determination in the Federal Register, saying it was imposing the duties on just one company, Villares Metals SA, after reviewing sales during the period from February 2008 through January 2009.

Villares is a leading steel company in Latin America that was purchased in 2004 by Germany's Bohler-Uddeholm AG.
