Abbott Labs Files Patent Suit Against ImClone

Law360 (February 6, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Drug maker Abbott Laboratories Inc. has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against ImClone Systems Inc., accusing its rival of infringing a method patent in the manufacture of its costly cancer drug Erbitux.

The lawsuit, filed Feb. 5 in Massachusetts district court, accuses New York-based ImClone of directly and indirectly trampling Abbott’s patent related to cellular enhancer sequences used in drug manufacturing.
