FairPoint Fights For Ch. 11 Plan's Verizon Injunction

Law360, New York (July 13, 2010, 7:18 PM EDT) -- FairPoint Communications Inc. is fighting to preserve an injunction in its plan barring Verizon Communications Inc. from reasserting litigation trust claims relating to the $2.3 billion landline deal that put FairPoint on the path to bankruptcy, arguing that the provision is narrowly tailored and reasonable.

In a filing Monday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, FairPoint argued in favor of the plan's provision of an injunction it said was necessary to preserve the value of its estates.
