ITC Probes Promethean In Teaching System IP Case

Law360, New York (July 14, 2010, 2:30 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has launched an investigation into whether classroom technology maker Promethean Inc. has imported products that infringe a patent by rival eInstruction Corp. for an interactive teaching system.

The agency said Tuesday it voted to institute a review based on eInstruction’s complaint that accuses Promethean of importing products into the U.S. that infringe U.S. Patent Number 6,930,673 B2 in violation of Section 337 of the Tariff Act.

Representatives for eInstruction and Promethean did not respond to requests seeking comment.
