9th Circ. Asked To Block Grand Canyon Uranium Mine

Law360, New York (July 14, 2010, 11:25 AM EDT) -- A coalition of conservation groups and Native American tribes has appealed a federal judge's denial of their bid for a preliminary injunction on uranium mining just six miles north of Grand Canyon National Park.

The Center for Biological Diversity, the Grand Canyon Trust, the Sierra Club, the Kaibab Band of Paiute Indians and the Havasupai Tribe lodged a notice of interlocutory appeal Monday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona, taking the issue to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit....
