Wal-Mart Faces Largest Class Action In History

Law360, New York (February 6, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal appeals court Tuesday upheld the class action status of a gender discrimination suit filed by female employees against Wal-Mart Inc. alleging that women who work for the retail giant are paid less and have to wait longer for promotions than their male counterparts.

The 2-1 decision by the three-judge panel could allow a jury to consider what is the largest-ever certified class in history.
