China To Allow More Copyrighted US Media Imports

Law360, New York (July 15, 2010, 6:24 PM EDT) -- China will ease restrictions on copyrighted media imported from the U.S. by March 19, in order to comply with a World Trade Organization panel ruling that the barriers violated the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade.

The U.S. and China agreed on the March 19 deadline for China to implement the WTO dispute resolution panel's recommendations that China eliminate discriminatory requirements facing U.S. importers and distributors of copyrighted products, according to a letter from ambassadors from both countries posted on the WTO website Wednesday.
