Special Master Quits In Prudential 'Staged' ADR Suit

Law360, New York (July 19, 2010, 6:20 PM EDT) -- A special master tasked with untangling discovery disputes between Prudential Financial Inc. and dozens of employees who claim the insurer colluded with a law firm to set up a sham arbitration process has voluntarily stepped down to avoid perceived conflicts.

Judge Brian R. Martinotti of the Superior Court of New Jersey recently appointed Lauren Handler, a principal at Porzio Bromberg & Newman PC, to resolve discovery issues between the parties as they prepare for trial, currently scheduled for June.
