Schulte Roth Can't Rep Veritas Founder, NY Court Says

Law360, New York (July 21, 2010, 4:37 PM EDT) -- A New York appeals court has ruled Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP can't represent both Veritas Capital Management LLC and its founder in cases involving former Veritas principal Thomas J. Campbell, saying the private equity company's interests may be adverse to McKeon's.

The law firm may continue to represent Veritas itself, according to the opinion Tuesday in the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of New York, First Department, which affirmed a 2008 ruling made in a state trial court.
