ITC Trumps ITA In Nixing French Sorbitol Dumping Order

Law360, New York (July 21, 2010, 2:14 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce has announced it will officially revoke an anti-dumping order on French-imported sorbitol, a crystalline used in gum, in spite of a recommendation to the contrary by the agency's International Trade Administration.

While the ITA determined in November that removing the order would likely lead to continued dumping, it was trumped by the U.S. International Trade Commission, which declared in June that the U.S. economy would probably not suffer if the order were nixed.
