EPA Inks $1.4M Settlement Over NJ Superfund Site

Law360, New York (July 23, 2010, 3:52 PM EDT) -- Imperial Oil Co. Inc., two of its former officers and the now-defunct Champion Chemical Co. have agreed to pay at least $1.4 million to reimburse the federal government for cleanup costs at a New Jersey Superfund site.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency filed a consent decree Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey that calls for the parties to make up for missed payments under an earlier 2001 agreement.
