Ex-GM Worker, Husband Accused Of Stealing Data

Law360, New York (July 22, 2010, 7:25 PM EDT) -- A federal indictment is alleging a former General Motors Co. engineer and her husband engaged in a scheme to steal trade secrets related to hybrid vehicles and offer the information to a Chinese competitor.

The indictment, unsealed Thursday, accuses Shanshan Du and her husband, Yu Qin, of conspiracy to possess trade secrets without authorization, unauthorized possession of trade secrets and wire fraud, according to the FBI and the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan.
