Yelp, Yellow Book, Others Face Web Search IP Suit

Law360, New York (July 26, 2010, 12:48 PM EDT) -- Yellow Book USA Inc., Yelp Inc., Frontier Communications Corp. and several other companies have been targeted by GeoTag Inc. in a suit alleging infringement of an online search patent.

The suit, filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, claims that the defendants offer services that allow users to conduct Web searches for certain geographic areas that infringe U.S. Patent Number 5,930,474, issued in 1999 and titled “Internet organizer for accessing geographically and topically based information."
