Stanford Receiver Sues Merge Healthcare For $9M

Law360, New York (July 27, 2010, 2:14 PM EDT) -- The receiver for the estate of accused Ponzi schemer Robert Allen Stanford has sued Merge Healthcare Inc. to recover $9 million that he alleges Stanford's bank fraudulently transferred to the medical imaging company.

Stanford International Bank Ltd. used money from the sale of fraudulent certificates of deposit to make the $9 million payment after the bank was already insolvent, according to the complaint filed Monday by court-appointed receiver Ralph S. Janvey in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
