Best Buy, Dozens More Sued Over Encryption Patents

Law360, New York (July 28, 2010, 12:22 PM EDT) -- Having settled claims against Microsoft Corp., Apple Inc. and other defendants over two network encryption patents, the PACid Group LLC has launched a new infringement action against dozens more companies, including Best Buy Co. Inc. and Eastman Kodak Co., over the technology.

The 133-page complaint, filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, alleges that the defendants sell Wi-Fi adapters, Blu-ray disc players and other products that infringe the patents-in-suit.
