Financial Reform 101: Securitization

Law360, New York (August 2, 2010, 1:15 PM EDT) -- On July 21, 2010, President Barack Obama signed landmark financial reform legislation entitled the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (“H.R. 4173” or the “act”).[1]

The legislation, which has been heavily debated by both the House and the Senate is viewed by the Obama administration and legislation proponents in the Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives as a significant step toward addressing financial regulatory reform and the recent financial crisis.
