Jury Finds Leader Data Patent Invalid In Facebook Suit

Law360, New York (July 28, 2010, 5:42 PM EDT) -- A federal jury has handed a victory to Facebook Inc. in an infringement suit brought by Leader Technologies Inc. over data storage technology, concluding that that the social networking giant infringes the asserted patent but that it is invalid.

The jury in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware returned its verdict Wednesday after a six-day trial, finding the patent-in-suit is invalid because a product using the technology was being sold for more than a year before Leader applied for it.
